Introducing our Havanese!

The Havanese is a bright, playful, affectionate little dog from the Toy group (Companion group).  They are easy to train and devoted family members.

Havanese are slightly longer than tall with a gradual rise towards their rear.  They are generally from 8 to 12 inches in height with weight of 7 to 14 pounds.  They have an abundance of coat which requires daily care to prevent tangles or knots.  There is a wide variety of colours and also markings or patterns which are all equally acceptable.

For more information on the Havanese I recommend you check out the

Our other very exciting news was the November 2013 arrival of "Salsa" our Havanese! She was my Birthday gift from my wonderful husband and I am so excited to have her... She has fit in so nicely with the Terriers and is loved by all.  Salsa came from the "Classical" kennel in Ontario who is well known for their lovely Bearded Collies and Havanese...

Below are some lovely photos taken by her breeders... at 6 weeks.

Due to testing positive for Compensative Autoimmune Thryoiditis Salsa will not be bred and is now our retired Pet... Both her parents tested clear so it shows how things can turn up even when you are not expecting them... Testing is so important!

I did get a chance to show Salsa a few times in June 2014 at the Redmond Oregon shows and went Best of Winners two of the 3 days.   This was my first time showing her and I so enjoyed it!

We hadn't shown at home in Canada yet until October 2015 when we attended the Fraser Valley Dog Fanciers show.  At the three days Salsa was shown she went Winner's Bitch each day and is now almost finished at home.
